Education For Employment – Palestine (EFE-Palestine) and Juzoor for Health and Social Development have signed an agreement to provide emergency health support to train eligible youth in Gaza and develop their skills in Midwifery (40), Emergency First Aid Training (120) and Psychosocial First Aid (120).
The trainees will serve between five to seven shelter centers in Gaza, which include 15,000-17,000 displaced people who need urgent and emergency care due to their inability to access medical facilities.
H.E. Mr. Sinokrot Chair of EFE-Palestine said “EFE, true to its mission of empowering youth, is utilizing its health programs to train youth to meet the basic health and humanitarian needs of people living in shelters.” In turn, Dr. Umayyah Khammash, Director General of Juzoor for Health and Social Development, said: “we will reach out to those in need to midwifery services and those who need psychosocial first aid and additional support since everyone in Gaza including doctors and nurses are passing through mental health conditions.”
Dr. Saro Nakashian, CEO of EFE-Palestine stressed: “The program was built on previous experiences in training youth and empowering them to serve communities in need.”
