Mentorship

EFE’s Mentorship Program pairs recent EFE graduates with skilled and experienced professionals who will mentor, inspire, and guide mentees in their area of expertise. It provides alumni an opportunity to receive personalized guidance from those experienced in the workforce through a confidential and safe relationship to express ideas and questions about their careers. In turn, this provides a diversity of thought and a deeper understanding of values and leadership. The benefits of mentoring are vast for the mentee, the mentor, and the organizations where they work.

What Is Mentorship?

Mentorship is a professional learning relationship between a mentor, who shares knowledge and experience with a mentee to enrich their professional journey. Learn how our mentorship model supports both mentors and mentees from orientation to ongoing guidance.

  • Career Development: Guiding the mentee to identify career goals and take steps to achieve them.

  • Networking: Exposing the mentee to opportunities and individuals to create new professional relationships.

  • Enhancing Skills: Supporting the mentee in the development of skills aligned with the needs and objectives of their place of work.

The Process
Orientation: Mentors and Mentees will attend respective orientations to introduce them to the program's goals, expectations, and structure, as well as to provide an overview of effective mentorship practices and resources available to support their relationship.

The Matching Process: Mentors and mentees will be matched based on a list of soft skills they’ve chosen to provide (mentor) and to gain/learn (mentee), making sure their preferences align for a good fit.

Mentorship Sessions: Once paired, mentors and mentees will receive one another’s contact information, and the mentee will set up the first session. In this session, you will get to know each other and agree on a Mentorship Agreement to plan meeting times, how you’ll connect, and what you want to achieve.

Over the next three months, you’ll meet eight times for 30 to 90 minutes, focusing on conversations, activities, and self-reflection to help each other grow. You’ll also check in regularly to stay on track and reach goals.

By pairing EFE graduates with experienced professionals, we’re fostering growth, leadership, and networking opportunities. Since November 2023, participants across the MENA region and beyond have been connected.
