On 24 October 2017, "Dealing with Refugees: from Challenges to Opportunities" , a conference that aims to alter the perception of refugees from challenges to opportunities, took place in Amman, Jordan and highlighted the work of Jordan EFE. Conference participants visited a Jordan EFE program preparing 23 Syrian women refugees for jobs as manicurists, offered with the support of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
Jordan EFE has supported thousands of youth in finding a job though various training programs and grants for micro-entrepreneurship, and in 2016 began training Syrian refugees living in Jordan. Through its recent and current projects, Jordan EFE will prepare nearly 200 Syrians to start home-based businesses or to succeed in jobs in areas like hospitality, garment manufacturing and beauty.
