SAHWA Project results: employment and economic opportunities are the main concern for Arab youth

Results of the European Commission-funded SAHWA project, based on a survey of 10,000 youth across the MENA, reveal that unemployment and the lack of economic opportunities are the main concern for 62% of Arab youth, with 86% citing a lack of professional opportunities, low income or poor living conditions as reasons for wishing to emigrate. The survey also reveals very low levels of political participation or trust in institutions.

As the organization expert in youth employment in the MENA, EuropEFE has been a key partner in this project, which brought together 15 partners from Europe and the South and East of the Mediterranean. For more information, watch the video below:
