In 2006, EFE launched an affiliate in Jordan as a national initiative to develop employer and market-driven training programs to give youth the skills they need to build a career. Originally established at the Jordan Career Education Foundation (JCEF) and later renamed Jordan EFE (JEFE), the organization partners with local businesses to identify their needs and works with national and international academic partners to design tailored courses so that students will have relevant, employable skills.

  • Samir Murad


      JEFE Chairman
      Former Minister of Labour



    H.E. Mr. Samir Murad is a Jordanian Businessman and Social Entrepreneur dedicated to youth development, education, employability, responsible citizenship, and public service. He formerly served as the Jordanian Minister of Labour from 2010 to 2011. He was also the Chairman of the Social Security Corporation, the Vocational Training Corporation, the National Company for Employment and Training, Employment - Technical & Vocational Education & Training Fund (E-TVET), and the Amman Baccalaureate School Endowment Fund. Additionally, he has served on the boards of many profit and non-profit organizations such as Capital Bank, Energy Management Services, INJAZ and EDAMA.

    In addition to serving as the chairman of Jordan Education For Employment, Mr. Murad is currently the President of Said Murad & Sons for Trade & Investment, the Vice-Chairman of MedGulf Insurance Company, and the Secretary-General of the Jordan Scouts and Guides Association, the Chairman of the Electricity Distribution Company and the Jordan Post. He is a founding Member of Jordan Chapters of the Young Presidents’ Organization and of the World Presidents Organization. He is a co-founder of the Peace Action Network—an organization created in the aftermath of September 11, 2001 to engage members from across conflict regions in the Middle East, India/Pakistan, North America, and elsewhere. He also co-Founded the Arab Foundation for Sustainable Development (RUWWAD). He serves on the boards of Nuqul Automotive Company, the Jordan Social Security Investment Fund, the Jordan Economic Social Council, The Palestinian Association for Children’s Encouragement of Sports (PACES), the Jordan Strategy Forum, and the Economic Policy Development Forum, and was recently appointed to the National Committee on Human Resource Development.


  • Isam Salfiti

    • Chairman, Etihad Bank for Savings and Investment

    Mr. Salfiti holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and serves as Chairman and General Manager of The Union Bank for Savings & Investment, as well as Chairman of the Jordanian Hotel and Tourism Company, the Etihad Land Development Company, and Etihad Integrated Tourism Company. He is also a member of the Boards of Directors of Zara, specializing in investments, and the tobacco manufacturer Al Etihad Company.

      Social and Civic Leader


    Ms. Kawar graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from California State University, Chico, and received a Master’s in Business Administration in 1989. Having worked as a Financial Controller for Private Investments of the Khoury Family from 1990 until 2002, Ms. Kawar is on the Board of the following institutions: King Hussein Cancer Fund, Royal Art Gallery, and the Performing Arts Center. For the past two years, she served on the Education Committee for the Young Presidents’ Organization. She was also on the Board of Directors of the American Medical Clinics.

  • Luay Abugazaleh

    Luay is currently the CEO and Managing Partner at Abu-Ghazaleh Intellectual Property and Vice President of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Co. International since 1992. In 2002, Luay also assumed the role of Vice President of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization to date. He is also an Honorary Consul to the Republic of Uzbekistan in Jordan since 2008 to present. Luay has extensive communications and development background and is a member in many associations around the world and Board Member at Abu-Ghazaleh Projects Co., Abu- Ghazaleh Legal Services and Abu-Ghazaleh Consulting Co. He was appointed as Young Presidents’ Organization Jordan Chapter Chair from 2006-2007, and MENA regional Chair from 2007-2009, and International Board Member from 2008-2011. Luay has a BA in International Management from Claremont McKenna College, USA, and is fluent in French, English, Spanish and Arabic.

  • Mohammed Batayneh

    • CEO, BADR Developments and Agri-Jordan

    Mohammed Bataineh is the CEO of BADR Developments and Agri-Jordan. He holds a degree in Architecture from the University of Texas in 1979. After working with Bechtel Corporation and Jafar Tukan Architects & Engineers in Amman, Mr. Bataineh founded his own company in 1982 and went on to acquire vast experience ranging from design and development to manufacturing interior building materials and supplying turnkey jobs throughout the Middle East & North Africa. Mr. Bataineh has been directly responsible for procuring, planning, managing and in some cases executing a variety of projects including border posts, seaports, commercial centers, hotels, schools, standby power centers, public buildings and housing projects.

    In 1995 he led an international team of top world developers and investors and produced a master economic development plan for the Jordan Rift Valley multi-modal industrial corridor from the Gulf of Aqaba to the Dead Sea. The joint venture group reported to His Majesty the late King Hussein and received the support of all relevant parties. From 1998 to date, Mohammed Bataineh continued to work towards promoting Jordan and the region for international investment and development. This included project appraisal, site identification, vision audit, charette management, fund raising, project team hiring and leadership. Projects included the development of Aqaba Special Economic Zone in Jordan and other projects ranging from port developments in Oman to multipurpose developments in the Middle East, the Far East and Europe. In 2000 Mr. Bataineh was part of the team assembled by order of His Majesty King Abdullah II to come up with a vision and plan for developing the Aqaba Region. The plan formed the basis of the Aqaba Special Economic Zone (ASEZ) – an integrated development project adopted today.

  • Ronald Bruder

    • Founder, Education For Employment; Chairman, EFE-Global

    Honored by TIME Magazine as one of the 100 Most Influential People for his nonprofit work with EFE, Mr. Bruder began as a serial entrepreneur with businesses in real estate, travel, pharmaceuticals and energy. In 1977, he founded The Brookhill Group, which owns and manages properties throughout the US with a focus on creating investment partnerships to develop or redevelop shopping centers, office buildings and multi-family homes.

    Mr. Bruder was an attendee at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. At the World Economic Forum in Tianjin in 2012, he was named a Schwab Foundation Global Social Entrepreneur for his work in founding EFE. He has served as a delegate of the Council on Foreign Relations to the Jeddah Economic Forum, and a contributor to the US-Islamic World Forum in Doha, Qatar. He is frequently invited to share EFE's best practices at major international conferences and fora, and has addressed audiences at the Clinton Global Initiative, World Economic Forum and the United Nations, among others.

    Mr. Bruder earned his bachelor's degree from Adelphi University, a MBA from New York University, and a Post Master in Accounting & Taxation from Iona College.

Workplace Success (WS) and Labor Rights

Jordan EFE’s core training, Workplace Success, trains unemployed university graduates in professional and communications skills, and teaches youth labor rights to enable them to identify, avoid or confront exploitation in the workplace.


Retail Sales

Tailored to meet the hiring needs of major chains such as Carrefour, Safeway and Cozmo as well as smaller retailers, the Retail Sales program provides classroom and on-the-job training in sales and customer service techniques, as well as Workplace Success soft skills training.


Vocational Training

Jordan EFE provides vulnerable youth from governorates across Jordan with vocational training to relieve poverty and facilitate economic growth by meeting the demands of local private sector companies. Training areas include Garment Making, Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC), and Hospitality. Graduates are placed into apprenticeships and jobs.


Tech Entrepreneurship

Launched in partnership with Intel, the Tech Entrepreneurship program blends face-to-face and e-learning methods to help Jordanian youth acquire the business and technology skills to become employable or start a business.

Ghadeer comes to JEFE with a wealth of expertise in workforce development, project management, and fundraising, along with a passion for EFE’s mission and vision for addressing youth unemployment in Jordan and throughout the MENA region.  Prior to joining JEFE, Ghadeer was the Executive Director at Luminus Group, an Education and Training Solution provider in the MENA region, and the Vice Dean for Student Affairs and Employment at Al-Quds College and the Luminus Vocational Training Center. In this role, she led Luminus Group’s education and training centers in adopting the E4E education for employment model in order to prepare youth for work and establish linkages with the private sector. Ghadeer also has four years of experience as a Business Acquisition Manager at DAI, where she built business networks in the MENA region, identified new business opportunities for the company and managed proposal development for USAID and other funders.
