About EFE-Tunisie

Established in 2011, EFE-Tunisie is a local non-profit association that addresses youth unemployment in Tunisia by providing young women and men with skills and tools to find a job or start a business, build their future and give back to their communities. EFE-Tunisie is the newest of the EFE affiliates in the Middle East and North Africa region.

EFE-Tunisie was launched with support from the US Department of State Office of the Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI). In just a few months, EFE-Tunisie was legally registered as a non-profit association in Tunisia, recruited a strong founding Board of Directors comprised of prominent Tunisian business and civil society leaders, and recruited talented local staff members to lead its training programs and job placement initiatives.

EFE-Tunisie has developed programs to bring together Tunisian and international partners in public-private partnerships that provide youth with economic opportunities.  To date, EFE-Tunisie has carried out business workplace skills training and sales skills training for unemployed youth who have gone on to work for EFE-Tunisie’s prominent first partners, Magasin Général and Vistaprint.  Committed to catalyzing change at major education institutions, EFE-Tunisie has partnered with the University of Kairouan and University of Gafsa in central Tunisia, the University of Gabes in the south, and the University of Jendouba in the northwest to enhance the employment outlook students by delivering job search skills trainings.

EFE-Tunisie's Programs

Workplace Success

EFE plans to launch its first Workplace Success training program in order to help young people entering the workforce develop the teamwork, leadership, presentation and organizational skills necessary to become professional and successful employees. Additionally, with support from Abraaj Capital, EFE-Tunisie will be partnering with AMIDEAST to incorporate Business English Language training into their Workplace Success program.

Sales Force (Force de Vente)

Following its success at EFE-Maroc, the Sales Force training program has been adapted and localized to fit the Tunisian context.  Growth in Tunisia’s trade with Europe has increased the demand for qualified salespeople who can help local companies to elevate their standards and compete globally.  In response to employer demands, the Sales Force training program is delivered in French to provide unemployed university graduates with training in cutting-edge, business-to-consumer sales techniques and other highly marketable skills. This program was developed by an International Advisory Council of sales leaders that included Dr. Benson P. Shapiro of Harvard Business School; Frank Cespedes of Harvard Business School (emeritus); Dr. Skander Essegaier of Koç University, Istanbul; and Mr. Alston Gardner of Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina.

Finding a Job is a Job

An agreement with the Tunisian Ministry of Higher Education has enabled EFE-Tunisie to launch a training program at public university partners in Gabes, Gafsa, Kairouan, and Jendouba to prepare university students for their transition into the job market. Using ManpowerGroup’s “Finding a Job is a Job” curriculum, the training program teaches students how to search for job openings, prepare cover letters and CVs, interview successfully.

Entrepreneurship Training Program

EFE-Tunisie launched its Entrepreneurship Training Programs to provide aspiring entrepreneurs with the skills and tools they need to launch their own businesses. EFE-Tunisie will partner with Intel to deliver entrepreneurship courses at its university partners, and with Microsoft to administer entrepreneurship skills training courses to unemployed youth throughout the country.
