EFE is an affiliated network of locally-run non-profit organizations that creates economic opportunity for youth in the Middle East and North Africa. EFE's vision is to empower youth with the skills and opportunities they need to build careers that alleviate poverty and create a better future for themselves, their communities, and the world.
Unlike most youth employment programs, EFE is demand-driven. It starts by identifying those skills in highest demand in the private sector and winning commitments from company partners to hire EFE graduates. Distinctive in focusing on job placement, EFE provides young people with the tools they need to build their futures through employment, and provides employers with the skilled local talent that they need. To promote job creation, EFE training includes entrepreneurship programming as an important, complementary pathway to creating economic opportunity for young women and men.
Locally-run, affiliated non-profit organizations in the EFE Network are based in Egypt, Jordan, Palestine, Morocco, Tunisia and Yemen. A sister European organization, the Fundacion Educacion para el Empleo (EuropEFE), operates from Madrid, Spain, to assist EFE-Global in providing the resources and expertise that support sustainable operations at all the regional affiliates.
EFE-Global is registered as a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit, non-governmental organization
based in Washington, D.C., with offices in New York.
