EFE is the leading network of organizations connecting youth in MENA to tangible job opportunities through an affiliated network of EFE organizations in Jordan, Egypt, Morocco, Palestine, Tunisia, Yemen, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, the USA and Europe. Attendees at the Networking & Learning Meeting included some of the region’s most prominent corporate, government and education-sector advocates for youth economic opportunity who serve on EFE Network boards of directors, as well as top global partners and EFE executives advancing EFE’s work across MENA. The event is sponsored by Alwaleed Philanthropies and the US Department of State Middle East Partnership Initiative.
Jordan EFE CEO Ghadeer Khuffash explained, “The EFE Networking & Learning Meeting is a rare opportunity to meet with the pioneers who are creating some of the region’s most innovative approaches to youth employment. As the first EFE Affiliate established when EFE launched ten years ago, Jordan EFE is honored to host this distinguished group of leaders who are committed to creating a bright future for this region’s youth.”
As the highlight of the week, Jordan EFE joined with the Jordan Hotel Association and the American Chamber of Commerce Jordan to draw public attention to the positive potential of youth in Jordan and across MENA through a keynote luncheon on 4 April 2017. Convening over 200 leaders in the private, public, education and civil society sectors, the luncheon focused on innovative solutions for youth employment amid changes to the nature of work. In celebration of EFE’s launch ten years ago with the establishment of Jordan EFE, during the luncheon, EFE kicked off FirstJob: A Step to Your Dream campaign. The year-long regional campaign in partnership with MBC Al Amal and other partners will highlight inspirational “first job” stories from business leaders and EFE alumni to boost opportunities available to youth.
