2024 Year In Review

Thank you.

Thanks to your unwavering support, young people across the MENA region are achieving what once seemed impossible.

They’re building brighter futures—launching enterprises, pursuing careers in tech, and securing jobs that provide dignity and purpose. Elsewhere, they’re stepping up as first responders in their communities when it matters most.

Your belief in our mission has made this transformation possible. We truly couldn’t have done it without you. Together, we’re not just changing lives but empowering a generation to create a better tomorrow.

Thank you for believing in them and in what’s possible.
Thank you for being part of this journey.

MENA YES! 2024: Solution-focused Regional Youth Employment Summit
The first MENA Youth Employment Summit (MENA YES!) took place in Casablanca, Morocco, on October 7-8, 2024, uniting 250 participants from 141 organizations. With 20% youth representation, the summit addressed key themes: AI and the Digital Economy, Women’s Economic Opportunity, Green Jobs, and Mental Health Support. Supported by partners like SAP, Dell, and the EU, the event showcased 18 innovative solutions for employment challenges and will produce a white paper with actionable insights. MENA YES! will return in October 2025 in Tunis, Tunisia, continuing the mission to empower youth through collaboration and collective action.

EFE Expands Operations into Lebanon
EFE launched operations in Lebanon in July, forming partnerships to roll out the AFAQ entrepreneurship program. Starting in early 2025, AFAQ will equip youth with market-relevant skills to address unemployment. EFE also secured its first grant to train 90 Lebanese youth through Job Training & Placement programs over two years. Despite ongoing challenges, EFE collaborated with EFE-UAE to deliver 3 LinkedIn training sessions in Arabic, English, and French, benefiting 70+ youth. Additionally, 2 peer-led workshops helped Lebanese trainers enhance their feedback and career management skills.

Emergency Trainings in Gaza

EFE redirected our efforts in Gaza this year to equip youth with the skills needed to respond to the escalating crisis. Through programs in Emergency First Aid, Emergency Midwifery, and Psychosocial First Aid, EFE-Palestine's staff on the ground in Gaza worked to provide training to individuals who have since supported over 100,000 displaced people.

Graduates have been vital in shelters, assisting with births, administering wound care, and managing emergencies for vulnerable communities.

In response to the increasing number of severe injuries, we are launching a new Physical Therapy training program to address the growing demand for rehabilitation services.
